Paris Gare de Lyon: the ideal location for your stay

Paris Gare de Lyon: the ideal location for your stay

The Aurore Hotel is located in the heart of the 12th arrondissement, right next to Gare de Lyon railway station. This station is famous as the home of the gourmet restaurant Le Train Bleu, a model of Second Empire architecture and interior design. Some of its rooms have been listed as historic monuments since 1972.

Our hotel can also be reached via two RER express train lines. Line A runs all the way to the La Défense district and Marne-la-Vallée. This means you can reach Disneyland® Paris in forty minutes or so. Line D runs all the way to Gare du Nord railway station and the Stade de France.

Numerous metro (1, 5 and 14) and bus lines offer easy access to the city’s many attractions, including the Champs-Elysées, Butte Montmartre, the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay, the Trocadéro and the Eiffel Tower, the Île de la Cité and Notre-Dame Cathedral, as well as many other sites that are not to be missed!

Between Bercy Village and Bastille

If you visit Paris to see a show, concert or sports event at the AccorHotels Arena (formerly known as the ‘Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy’ – POPB), our hotel is the perfect place to stay. It is located in the 12th arrondissement, less than 10 minutes by metro and 15 minutes on foot from this huge complex, which can hold up to 18,000 spectators, and hosts international artists and major events.

Bercy Village is a pleasant surprise, offering a slice of the countryside in the city. With terraces, shops, restaurants, leisure venues and wooded parks, all the ingredients are there to spend a delightful day. You can also discover one of Europe’s biggest cinemas, UGC Cité Ciné Bercy, as well as La Cinémathèque Française (a film archive where screenings are held) and the Musée des Arts Forains (fairground museum).

In addition to Bercy Village, you can make the most of your stay at The Aurore Hotel to visit the Bastille district, which holds a special place in French history. Discover the Colonne de Juillet, a column standing in the centre of Place de la Bastille that commemorates the fall of the July Monarchy of 1830. You can also attend a show at the Opéra Bastille.

The Marais district is also nearby. This picturesque part of the French capital is also home to the Musée Carnavalet (a museum that explores the history of Paris from prehistory to the present day), the Place des Vosges and the Musée Picasso.
